It’s a Friday evening and I’m driving around picking up riders of all types.  I’m about to call it a night when I pick up a lovely couple and begin a ride that I will never forget.

This couple was talking about a vacation that they were just on.  They had gotten married 3 years ago and they just got back from their first vacation since their honeymoon.  The lady started the discussion with how they waited 3 years and how it was good except for one thing.  She said, “We finally go on this vacation and come back home with nothing but a tan.”  Now I can’t help but listen to this whole conversation and find certain things funny.  She went on and on how every time she wanted to spend money, he would not allow her to spend too much.  She complained that all he did was buy things that were necessary for their trip and never splurged.

The man countered his wife and explained how there was no way that he was going to spend their vacation money on things they don’t need.  He explained that if he were to buy those things, most likely, they would end up broken or thrown away in the garbage.

As we approached their destination, the woman tries to end this conversation with,

“Well honey, a little birdie told me something about you!”

“Oh yeah, what?” says the husband.

The wife says, “This  little birdie told me that you are “Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!”

Now at first, I was like, that’s pretty funny, and I laughed.  What I didn’t realize was the response that I was gonna hear next.  Now come-backs can be classic, original and very funny, but this come-back was probably the funnies and quickest come-backs I have ever heard.  I can only hope that one day, I will have as great a come-back as this.

The husband, without hesitation, says “OH YEAH?!!!”

The wife goes, “Yeah!!”

The husband says, “Well a little birdie told me something about you!”

The wife says, “What did the birdie tell you?”

The husband replied, “The birdie told me that you are Cuckoo, Cuckoo,  Cuckoo!!!!
